Sport-utility vehicles or SUVs come in many shapes and sizes that are suitable for different lifestyles.  One of the new suvs available is a premium compact 2008 Acura RDX.  The Acura RDX can be driven hard on a canyon road due to well-tuned suspension.  It also has quick steering and 235/55 series tires. This vehicle seats five people and has an all wheel drive.  It has a 240-hp 2.3 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission.  The standard safety features are ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags and curtain airbags.  There is also dual-zone automatic climate control, the upholstery is leather and front seats are heated.  The 6.5 inch dashboard screen gives you audio and climate information.  This is a classy vehicle that is fun to drive.

The Land Rover LR2 is another one of the new suvs that is compact size.  This vehicle has outstanding on-road performance.  It also has the class-leading off road ability of a Land Rover.  The Land Rover LR2 has a spacious interior and purposeful stance with many advanced technologies.  This compact suv has the ability to go anywhere.  It’s also is a very spacious vehicle with stadium seating and cabin versatility.  This is a more powerful and more stylish new compact Land Rover LR2.  Electronic features include Terrain Response system and many safety features.  Many of the new Land Rover LR2 features are comparable to upscale LR3 and Range Rover.

The 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander is another one of the new suvs that is compact.  Four trims are available: ES, SE, LS and XLS.  They are all equipped with front wheel drive or all-wheel drive systems.  There are safety features on all these outlands. Some of the safety features include dual-stage frontal airbags, side-curtain airbags, vehicle stability control and traction control.

Chevy New Suvs

Chevy offers different models of new suvs in small and full sizes.  One of Chevy’s new suvs is a 2008 Equinox model.  This vehicle has a five-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive learning capacity.   This will give you smooth consistent shifting.  Four-wheel antilock disc brakes that will help you maintain steering control.  Another great feature of this vehicle is the standard60/40 split-folding multi-flex sliding rear seat.  It can comfortably seat a 6’6’adult with its rearmost position.  Price for this vehicle starts at $23,355.  Other 2000 Equinox models are Lt, LTZ and Sport.

Another new suvs model by Chevy is the 2008 Avalanche model.  This vehicle has a StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control system.  This control system improves vehicle stability especially emergency maneuvers.  There’s lockable top-box storage compartments that provides up to1.7 cu. ft. of storage room in each one.  These storage compartments are located on the sides of the cargo box.  This vehicle also comes with dual-zone manual temperature control, AM/FM stereo with CD/MP3 player and steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls.

The 2008 Suburban from Chevy is another one of the new suvs.  The 2008 Suburban Half-Ton LS has an active fuel management technology.  This deactivates four of eight cylinders if extra power isn’t needed.  It has a head-curtain side-impact air bag system for all rows and custom cloth eight passenger seating.  There’s also a CD player with new MP3 compatibility.  For more information about any of these new suvs by Chevy go to:

New SUVs Of The Year Awards

Mazda CX-9 won the 2008 Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the year.  This is an extremity comfortable vehicle with driver-focused seating positions available.  The driver’s seat power adjusts in eight audio and cruise controls.  The steering column modifies for reach and rake. There are rich plastics, faux wood and two-tone leather in the cabin. The exterior details look sporty.  This vehicle has a steeply angled windshield, sharp fender flares and slanted headlamps.  This is an elegant and sophisticated vehicle.

The 2008 Jeep Patriot is a 2008 Motor Trend SUOTY Contender. The Jeep Patriot looks like a reintroduction of the classic Cherokee but it’s different.  This vehicle has a longer wheelbase and is taller than the classic Cherokee.  Another difference is the Cherokee has an extinct inline-six and the 2008 Jeep Patriot is powered by a 2.4 liter inline-four.  This model has four seats and front or all-wheel drive.  It can also tow up to 2000 lbs.

The new 2008 Toyota Highlander is another 2008 contender in the 2008 Motor Trend SUOTY.  This vehicle is in the midsize SUV class and is the redesign Toyota for its inclusive lists of safety features.  The Toyota Highland 2008 has more room and is much larger and powerful than the vehicle it replaces.  It’s very comfortable to ride in due to its improved versatility.  This vehicle is 4-door and is available in different trims.  There are three standard rows of seats that can in these new suvs that can accommodate up to seven passengers comfortably.  It has a stylish and elegant exterior look.
